Drawing on the thousand-year-old celadon legacy of Longquan, we have cast this substantial, elegant jar-cup.
The cup’s surface features a relief of a Qilin arriving amidst auspicious clouds. The mythical creature is depicted with a majestic posture, its scales and mane meticulously carved, concealed beneath a warm, lustrous plum-green glaze. The Qilin has long been revered as a benevolent beast, symbolizing good fortune, health, and a prosperous future, carrying with it a sense of calm and auspiciousness.
The jar-cup has a full, rounded belly that gathers the tea's aroma, while its thickness provides a solid, steady feel in the hand. As tea is poured, the celadon glaze enhances the color of the liquid, and the soft emerald glow highlights the pattern of the mythical beast, offering a uniquely charming visual experience.
Whether displayed on a tea table to showcase one's taste or held while sipping tea to invite good fortune, this is an exceptional piece of celadon, perfect for daily use, personal collection, or as a meaningful gift.
