One vessel holds the essence of ancient Shu; wisps of smoke meet a divine visage. This Longquan celadon incense holder draws inspiration from the Sanxingdui bronze deity statue, recreating the uniquely mysterious facial features of the ancient Shu civilization—protruding eyes, large ears, and a towering crown—condensing the romance and mystery of the Jinsha and ancient Shu cultures from three thousand years ago into celadon.
The vessel is wrapped in thick plum-green glaze, its pale, moist texture reminiscent of bronze weathered by time. An incense hole is set into the crown; when a stick of incense is inserted and lit, the curling smoke rises slowly from the top of the deity, as if traversing a millennium to encounter the ancient rituals of the Shu kingdom.
With its compact size, it can be placed on a tea table or a desk. Even when not in use for incense, it serves as an atmospheric piece of cultural and creative sculpture. Niche and unique, carrying the weight of history, it is a distinctive choice for personal appreciation or as a special cultural gift.
