đŋ Craft Origins
The tea flag fabric is made using gambiered Canton gauze, a national intangible cultural heritage. As the only silk fabric in the world dyed with pure plant dyes, it uses 100% mulberry silk as the base fabric. It undergoes over thirty processes, including repeated immersion in yam juice, covering with Pearl River mud, and sun exposure, taking over a hundred days to dye slowly. It is the crystallization of the wisdom of the Lingnan ancestors in their dialogue with nature and is known as the "soft gold of the silk world."
⨠Pattern Meanings
The tea flag features "Fungi in the Forest" as its core pattern, drawing inspiration from the Eastern Zen concept of "new rain in an empty mountain, life in the forest":
âĸ Mushroom pattern: In Eastern aesthetics, it symbolizes vitality and healing. The umbrella-shaped cap also implies a beautiful wish for "shelter and tranquility," adding a touch of gentle wildness to the tea ceremony.
âĸ Dry branches: Minimalist lines outline natural branches, with blank spaces seemingly concealing wind and dew, aligning with the Zen aesthetics of "stillness, emptiness, and tranquility" in tea ceremonies, allowing the small tea space to become a serene natural world in itself.
đ Dimensions
âĸ Size: 28Ã300cm
âĸ Craftsmanship: Hand-rolled hem, flat and durable edges, suitable for long table tea settings, can be placed in the center or on one side, easily creating a layered Chinese tea ceremony atmosphere.
đ§ļ Material and Craftsmanship
âĸ Fabric: 100% mulberry silk gambiered Canton gauze, black gambiered silk background, warm to the touch, with a natural matte texture and unique timeless quality.
âĸ Dyeing and Finishing: Follows traditional gambier dyeing and finishing techniques, giving the fabric the characteristic of becoming "softer with use and more supple with care."
âĸ Printing: Eco-friendly reactive printing, long-lasting colors that do not fade, delicately reproducing the subtle layers of fungi and wood in the forest.
â Practical Features
âĸ Breathable and dry: Gambiered Canton gauze is naturally breathable and quick-drying, preventing stuffiness during tea ceremonies, suitable for frequent use.
âĸ Stain-resistant and easy to care for: The dark background is stain-resistant and unobtrusive, minor water stains and tea stains can be wiped away quickly, making daily maintenance effortless.
âĸ Antibacterial and warm: Gambier dyeing and finishing give the fabric natural antibacterial properties, feeling warm and skin-friendly, making long periods of tea tasting more comfortable.
âĸ Multi-scene adaptability: Can be used as a main flag for Chinese tea ceremonies or as a decorative table runner for long tables, suitable for various spaces such as tea rooms, studies, and new Chinese-style homes.
